Hope you are having a great weekend! I'm finally updating the blog with most of the work I've been doing this last part of summer. I've been painting my heart out.  I also have some in progress larger work and am beginning my pumpkin paintings that you can catch a glimpse of over on Instagram.  The paintings above that are not marked sold can be found in my Etsy store if you are interested.  Thank you so much for continuing to follow my work. I had the loveliest studio visit with a long time subscriber to my blog who was in town last week. I am forever grateful for the opportunity of broadening my out reach online which allows me to continue doing this. It amazes me how I have made several in person friendships that started out through my internet venues.

Landscape from Scotland

Wild In Scotland by Polly Jones
I think I mentioned a while back that I now have work over on Ugallery. This is my latest painting on their site. You can see it and the others at the link here.  Below is a profile they did of me on their blog.

New UGallery Artist: Polly Jones

Polly Jones’s still life paintings are inspired by a sense of joy in the everyday. Her life journey thus far has been very serendipitous, with everything leading her to the life of an artist.

A Little Close
All aspects of the work are pleasing, from the lovely objects she chooses, to the warm colors and fun perspectives. She paints at home in a former sun porch converted into a studio full of windows, which she shares with her husband who is also an artist. Her paintings depict the timeless and traditional subject of the still life in a contemporary way.

Still Life at Night
Although the work has subtle art historical references, drawing inspiration from impressionists such as Henri Matisse, it feels very much her own. Polly incorporates mixed media and collage into the art using maps and pages of old books to create an added layer of meaning and dimension. The work feels like a satisfying memoir, made up of home, family, love, and an appreciation for the small things in life.

See more of Polly Jones’s art on UGallery, and be sure to follow her on Instagram

Summer Fruit Paintings by Polly Jones

Mid Summer Peach, acrylic mixed media on canvas by Polly Jones available here.

Three Strawberries, acrylic mixed media on canvas by Polly Jones available here.
Shadow Pear, acrylic mixed media on canvas by Polly Jones available here.
My flowers are mostly spent from the heat so I've been using my refrigerator for still life subjects. These are all 7" by 5" canvases.
