"Limes"

Acrylic on 8"by 8" masonite.

The pink and white cloth is a favorite of mine. It reminds me of one used in a great still life by Matisse. Years ago at a yard sale, I had admired this cloth under a woman's things she was selling. She whisked it out and insisted on giving it to me. That was a very nice moment. I think the pink and red together in this little painting create an unexpected combination.

"Tangerines"

11" by 14" acrylic on stretched canvas, framed in a contemporary style black wood frame.

"Two Teapots"

14" by 18" acrylic on stretched canvas
This was so much fun to paint. Though moss roses aren't a typical cut flower, I wanted to capture their limber stems and the combination of red and green in the stems and leaves. I am always on the lookout for buying blue and white dishes. (Thrift stores, estate sales) These are fun for me with the windmill scene and the castle on the back one. They must have been souveniers for some one long ago.
SOLD

"Grapes"

acrylic on 8" by 8" canvasboard
I love the structure of grape vines- It is such an ingenious system.

"Hungry, Thirsty"
8" by 8" acrylic on canvasboard

I've done a lot of paintings with glasses, spoons and forks. I like how they look and also how they remind me of the capacity I have to be a vessel and a consumer. SOLD

"Souvenier"

6" by 6" acrylic on gessoed masonite board

This little box was a souvenier from Holland that I gave to my grandmother when I was eighteen. Twenty five years later, when my grandmother died, I was given back the box with my original note inside.
