White Iris original mixed media painting by Polly Jones

White Iris by Polly Jones
This one has a little more invented color than usual.  I had to bring some irises inside to save them from the crazy wind we've been having.

Sold.

White Iris, Restless original acrylic painting by Polly Jones

White Iris, Restless by Polly Jones
I've been so restless this week which is frustrating since I had time to paint.  I have been up and down checking email, putting loads of laundry in to wash, checking the real mail so much, it's a wonder I finished anything.

8" square mixed media on canvas. Sold

When I was little our Vick's Salve was in a cobalt blue bottle like this.  Now you know how old I am.

Progress on "Progression" large mixed media painting by Polly Jones

Here's a look at what's on the easel right now.  It's been on the easel and the floor too as a matter of fact.  The studio is a mess but at least it's filled with the smell of irises from the back garden.  This painting started with a very distinct image in my head which looks nothing like this.  I'm not sure how I got here and I'm not sure where it's going, but I'll keep you posted.  Thanks for looking!

Garlic in Golden Light original mixed media painting by Polly Jones

Garlic in Golden Light by Polly Jones

Garlic in Golden Light by Polly Jones
I spend quite a bit of time looking through all of the garlic in the bins at the grocery store until I find just the right ones.  They have to have that little tail part intact.

8" square on canvas in my Etsy store here.

Whelk Shell for Dylan original mixed media painting by Polly Jones

Whelk for Dylan by Polly Jones
I do art with a boys and girls club once a week. Not long ago I took my shells for them to look at and draw. One little girl was so enamored with this little whelk shell. She was so excited about all of the colors shimmering together and she layered her markers to give that same quality to her drawing. It helped me to see it with fresh eyes.
