Interesting. I've seen newspaper prints on images of poplar trees before....the only thing distracting me is that a lot the exposed letters on the pumpkin are continually horizontal where in my mind I feel like they need to curve so the image appears flat. I still like it though.
Hi Crystal--I see what you mean about the horizontal text canceling out the three dimensional effect. I wasn't consciously thinking this while making it, but after the fact I like there being a tension between flatness and an illusion of space. If I did it again I would leave out that whole showing the word "pumpkin" Too corny, maybe. I am so glad you commented. I really crave art conversations.
