"Cherry Peppers" by Polly Jones, oil on stretched gallery wrapped canvas with 1 and 3/8th " profile, no frame necessary

I went to the grocery store with the plan of buying a red flower to paint, well, I came home with these cherry peppers instead. I've really enjoyed painting on these 12" square canvases with a depth of 1 and 3/8". It gives more room for using different types of brushwork and I like to contrast thick paint with thin. Also these canvases have an object-like quality because of their proportions.
