"Pickled Cucumbers"

Acrylic on 8" by 10" gessoed masonite. Today was another cold, cloudy, rainy day. I decided to paint something that was warm and colorful to counteract the dreary day. We were thankful for the much needed rain.

"Bur Sedge Again"

Mixed Media on 8" by 8" gessoed masonite. I don't believe I'm finished with this one yet. It is a continuation of some work I've done that explores beautiful weeds in a post Eden time. Why is there so much beauty in our world? and in the most unexpected places?

"Star Glass"

Acrylic on 8" by 10" gessoed masonite. I grew up using small glasses like these. I think they were sold containing shrimp cocktail, or maybe it was pimento spread or something else exotic. The blue and white scarf is a Vera design. I collect vintage scarfs and I like her designs the best.

"Snapdragons in Old Bottle"

Acrylic on 8" by 8" gessoed masonite. There are certain reds that are impossible for me to capture in paint. I wish you could see the actual snapdragon's velvety color.

"Blue Willow"

11" by 14" acrylic on masonite. This is larger than my other daily paintings so far. I had a head start on it since it was an abandoned beginning from a few months ago. I love to think of the blue willow story of star-crossed lovers whose souls turn into birds and are finally able to be together. So many versions of this story that we get to eat off of and drink out of!

"One Out of Three"

7and 3/4" by 7and 3/4" acrylic on gessoed masonite

This was fun to paint! I had seen several other daily painter's versions of packaged candy, and it made me want to try. It makes me think of a Janet Fish painting of packaged bananas. (one of her early paintings) She is an artist who has influenced me quite a bit.
