"Cyclamen"

Acrylic on 8" by 8" gessoed masonite

It's been a while since the last post. I've been enjoying a visit with family over the holidays. I guess I had gotten out of the rhythmn, somehow this little painting took more than a day to resolve. Painting can be a very mysterious process in that way; some flow quickly and others require some agonizing time.

"Detachment With Love"

Acrylic on birch panel, 48" by 24"
I'm posting an older, large painting as a bit of a filler. I can't get to the studio today and the last small painting I did was not worth posting. This was the first painting I did with layered images combining drawing, painting and collage. It's a process I am still excited about and hope to explore with some of the daily paintings too.

"Honey Jar"

8" by 8" acrylic on gessoed masonite

I bought this local honey from the farm supply store. I thought it was great that it said it was from mesquite and catclaw. It's good to back in Texas. The jar is an old one that a friend had found in the basement of their old house.
